Woo hoo. New pipe! Three times 50g of different tobacco. Ready to rock'n'roll. Ok first pipe inspection. Nice looking light, good finish. Bowl looks good hole centre and where it should be. Uh whats this? Bore hole in holm is not centre, it's top of recess. Draw on pipe seems ok but will this be a problem? It obviously means I'll have to take it apart to run a cleaner through it. Hmm should I send it back?
Pics to come. Issues with my friends computer.

Ok as usual I jumped the gun. It's fine. Cleaner passes smoothly through and there aren't any issues with airway hindrance. Looks to be a good pipe. Now proof will be in the smoking.

Cheers Mike and thanks for the link that was good to see. I just got back from giving it it's first run. Dunhill Elizabethan. It was a really good smoke which I thoroughly enjoyed. I probably packed it a bit loose even following the packing a pipe instructions I was a bit hesitant to tamp too heavily. This led to a 4x relight smoke but learning's in the doing I suppose. I puffed a bit too eagerly at one stage too which was met with must be the start of tongue bite but I immediately backed off and concentrated on a light 'sipping' technique as is talked about.Once I got my enthusiasm in check it really opened up the flavour and enjoyability of the smoke.
The pipe itself is extremely comfortable and fits nicely in my hand. It was also good to hear from my friends wife that the pipe suited me (ah ego and vanity).
All in all very happy with the purchase and glad that I made the decision.
Thanks to all for the informative pages. It was/is a invaluable resource.
Cheers.

Very nice looking pipe :) I'm going to look them up right now. Hopefully Pipesandcigars or Smokingpipes or one of the sponsors here carries them.

Here's one German shop that has a decent list of them.

There are about half a dozen or more shops that sell them.

Nice one - never heard of that brand before and I always find it interesting to read about and see pipes I am unfamiliar with.

Thanks guys and no worries A.R.
On a side note, if anyone of the more research adept members here can find out more about the Passatore company and where they are located etc. I'd be interested. I've googled a lot but can't find out much at all.
