It was a sad day- we took a 20Eu cab ride to see A Pipe du Nord….and it was closed due to the national holiday- we'll revisit it today….
Found a great tapas restaurant- 3 great Portos each and some incredible Pata Negra (cured ham from acorn fed pigs). The dish pictured was fritters with some really spicy sauce- fabulous! No more than 50Eu for all of it- a bargain in Paris
I'm usually not much into the grand shows, but since we've been here, we've gone to the Moulon Rouge and Lido last night- these really are some of the best shows in the world-(Warning- touch of tasteful nudity in this pic, so don't scroll down if it's against your religion- I bet 3 guys just sprained their fingers hitting the down arrow…)

"...A Pipe du Nord,,,"
Literal translation: "At North Pipe."
zack24:
It's interesting to note that "tagging" is not a phenomenon limited only to the United States...that is unless you did that in retaliation for the shop being closed! :)
Also it appears that the tapas weren't the only spicy offering in The City of Light.

I tend to be fairly nearsighted- fortunately we were very close to the stage…:)
…and yep- at A Pipe du Nord, it's close to a university- lot's of tagging and skateboarders everywhere…

junkyarddawg:
As stated, mine was a literal (as opposed to grammatical) translation. Concerning la lingua, I am reminded of what Mr. Twain said in "The Innocents Abroad": "In Paris they just simply opened their eyes and stared when we spoke to them in French. We never did succeed in making those idiots understand their own language." :)

Ah Paris. Indulge a brief story. My late wife, who was a chain cigarette smoker until her mid thirties,

went to a restaurant in Paris alone for a meal with several courses. I think after the soup and appetizer

she pulled out a cigarette and lit up, for a smoke between courses. The indignant waiter immediately

appeared and cancelled the rest of the meal. In that world, the cigarette came after the meal, and if you

lit up before that, the meal was over. My late wife was no soft touch for bad treatment, but as a guest in

another country, she ceded the point and went to have the other food elsewhere. She still loved France,

as I came to enjoy it on a first visit much later in life. She always said, you can't get a bad meal in Paris --

you can, but you get the idea. The seafood platter at Bofinger ... tres bien.

I'll be in the Paris airport for 3 hours tomorrow. I'm not that excited.
What time will you be there? We'll be flying from there to Florence at 1:00 tomorrow….

Looks like you are having a grand time over there. That is really cool. Once you get into the northern pipe or a pipe north or pipe of the north or whatever, send us some more pictures!!
Thanks!
