Got busy tonight looking at pipes of course! Picked up another by Trevor Talbert, this one is a Signature Grade.

Then because a good bird dog needs to be reminded of what his real job is I picked up the ultimate nose warmer by Nording, it's a Duck with gold wind cap.

Last but not least the true Dawg Daze will hit us today with temps in the 90's for the first time this summer so a Morta Dawg with plateau briar end cap, a Second Anniversary Pipe by Sabina Santos, it was her first Morta as well.

I used to have more rods, reels, firearms etc. as time went on those that were not being used got sold off and the money stashed. I also appraise and sell vintage tackle for folks often getting a piece for myself in payment, and no I make sure the really good stuff gets sold for fair market value I can trade lesser rods to folks wanting to try a specific maker or model. It's been a very satisfying hobby and several fly rods have become other toys in my life, I know we never truly own anything like what we have and if taken care of they'll last more than several owners. That Morta with the plateau ferrule is amazing, as are the other pipes, but the Morta really stopped me cold.

Pipesdownunder had the Talbert, the Sabina Santos I got straight from Sabina and the Duck came from Rasmusen's Collectibles, cheers. Yeah my searches are eclectic as well!

LOL! Then you know I traded a classic bamboo fly rod for a Mercedes SL-500, the rod I got from the sale of a vintage 1922 Whyte Laydie Banjo I had restored, now restoring the SL-500 to be complete for its 25th birthday in 2020.

Sabina makes some really good pipes. Glad you bought her second anniversary piece. I was eyeing at her pipe but gave in to a Blue Riband Zulu and 10-15 other pipes I got on ebay.

I love that briar accent on the morta. That is a sharp looking pipe.

With temps in the 90's of late my briars have pretty much taken a back seat with cobs being the bulk of my smoking with the occasional meerschaum and Morta pipe, I plan on enjoying it when the heat spell breaks though, cheers.
