My pipes must be having pipes. I leave them on my workbench and in their racks. Apparently my wife went into the pipe domain, I guess the awful stink of soiled pipe cleaners didn't keep her away, and she COUNTED my pipes. I must admit even I was surprise by the count. She came up with 32. I then did a recount, she missed a few hiding under the pipe rack. She keeps asking where I get them and I change the subject or something. She doesn't know EBay. Granted I own no "nice" pipe. The most expensive pipe I own is a $30 basket pipe in the shop for a cracked shank. The rest are all EBay specials, some I am restoring, some I enjoy smoking, and the beginnings of my Dr Grabow collection. But yes, spread out on the bench, is 34 odd pipes. I've been back to smoking pipes after getting rid of all my stuff for about a 6 weeks now. Perhaps I should slow down. My plan is to sell restorations to either a local B&M or get some newbies to pick some up from me after I've restored them. I would like to get them into 3 pipes for around $36 rather than have them make the mistakes I did of $30 for 1 basket pipe and NOT have a rotation which is what I think led to the cracked shank on my basket special. But at this point it is no more pipes until I sell some of the ones I have.

Aw, keep going until you are over 100 like somebody I know. Then you can start selling them. If you do sell, price them well at a local antique shop if they'll let you have a display case spot for cheap. You can try the B&M but some might see it as an attempt at competition.

Nothing wrong with new acquisitions. Especially at that price. Eventually you'll have one for every day of the year!

lol. Before I was married, my GF hadnt been to my condo in a while. When she saw my TAD, she couldn't believe it. She guessed the amount I had spent on the PAD/TAD. Was kinda funny. Now that I am married, I am a bit more careful with my funds. :)

Y'all sound alot like myself. I hadn't counted my pipes in awhile but this post made me look into it. I currently have 62 pipes. A few others in the mail.
I enjoy restoring and reselling as Sam does. Out of those 62 pipes 15 are in need of restoring. Once completed they will be resold. The most luck I've ever ran across was a pipe lot which I purchased for $32.00 which consisted of 34 pipes plus pipe stands, rests, cleaners, filters, even an 8 oz tin of Old Hickory. Out of that lot I sold all the pipes and accessories expect I ended up keeping three pipes for myself. I do not see myself ever running into a deal like that again!
As for my wife? She rolls her eyes when looking at them all but most times remains silent, most times...
