Calling all Alumni of the PAC 12! puffy

Where did you go and do you still watch any of your schools sporting events. If so, which sports?

Stanford undergrad and Business school.

I am an avid Cardinal Football fan and buy a season pass every year. I try and hit a few Basketball games too but Football is most definitely my thing.

Washington State University 08’ here, went on to get my Master’s in Psychology at Alaska Pacific University.

Attended every football and basketball game when I was there. We actually had a really good basketball team when I was there, the Tony Bennett era, it was fun.

Still avidly follow football, but our basketball team is once again ass gargling dook shit. They did upset Oregon this year though.

My dad is also a Wazzu alum (Civil Engineering, class of 66’) so that makes it even more fun. For graduation he got an all expenses paid year long tour of Vietnam. :(

Believe it or not he married a Husky, and my brother teaches at UW Med. My mom is mostly rehabilitated and roots for the Cougs, but my brother is still living in sin, although we give him a break because he is that special kind of “weird smart.”

You were there before Klay Thompson, eh?

I've never been to a college football or basketball game, but with my NFL football team abandoning its loyal base of Hayward tweakers for a bunch of desert rube tweakers, I might have to start going to some Stanford and Cal games. I've also been wanting to go to a baseball game at Sunken Diamond there at Stanford.

I'll say a prayer that your brother sees the light before it's too late.

I went to a small college in Washington so I'm not a Pac-12 alumnus myself but I grew up not far from WSU so when it comes to college sports, it's the Cougs for football and baseball and Gonzaga for hoops.

PAC 10, to you. The Farm, PhD 1979. Beaver, BS, MS, 1970.

Sometimes catch a game where the Trees are trouncing somebody or other, but am not a regular consumer of college sports.

Go LSJUMB!!!!!

I see!

If someone writes the wrong tense or gender, it's nothing, kinda like writing "it's" for the possessive "its". But when it's printed on a license plate holder, or made into a graphic, shouldn't there be a higher standard?

Correct, he showed up the season after I left. I did get to watch he and the Cougs win the Great Alaska Shootout here in Alaska though, which was awesome. He set a tourney record with 43 points in the final game. We got to shake hands with the players after the game. (You don't really realized how tall they all are until you are on the floor with them, it's crazy).

Honestly though, the Cougs basketball team was much better, and much more fun to watch in the two seasons that preceded Thompson's arrival. A bunch of ragtag no names made the sweet sixteen (losing to the eventual champions North Carolina) at the big dance, and at one point were ranked as high as #5 in the nation. It was incredible, a very defensive team, often holding other pac 12 teams in the 40s and 50s, and just incredible chemistry. A top 10 team, and virtually none of them (with the exception of the late bloomer Aron Baynes) went on to have any kind of NBA career. It was truly a team, and not a support group for a star or two. Really cool thing to witness, especially live. Tony Bennett is truly a genius coach. As much as I'm disappointed he left WSU, it was really cool to see his work finally lead where everyone knew it would for he and his new team at Virginia.

Since he left WSU we have done nothing but nosedive straight into the ground.
