I'm pretty sure I might have oxidation in my stem after I opened it up with a drill bit. What is the best way to fix this, I can't exactly scrub it very well. Oxy Clean and many pipe cleaners?

I wouldn't think oxidation would pop up that quickly. The drilling most likely removed any oxidation there might have been. Vulcanite will often have a brownish color to it after being worked. That is because it is actually a very dark brown-not black.Color seems to vary according to quality in my experience.
