Out of Pipe Cleaners

I've officially ran out of my first pack of pipe cleaners. Woohoo!
But unfortunately I wont be able to get any until the weekend. Is there any reliable way to clean a pipe without a pipe cleaner? Or do I have to stick it out until the weekend. Cheers

I've seen it said that historically, people have used chicken feathers as pipecleaners. Maybe the tail feathers? You could try chasing down a chicken.

I use a water rince on my pipes, but even then, I like to use a pipecleaner.

Also, I've seen members wash and reuse old pipecleaners... yuck.

All in all, I would say that it is a best practice to plan ahead, and when I see that I am down to just one pack of pipecleaners, I order another gross of them.

Bottle brush. Keep some really skinny ones around because they can really clean out a tube well. I use one occasionally to ensure a sweet pipe.

P.s. It's the kind you use to the clean those stainless straws.

Rolled up paper towel in the bowl and in the mortise. If the stem is acrylic you could seperate it from the stummel and run hot water through it?

Honestly I do both in conjunction with pipe cleaners. The mortise is the foulest part of the pipe, especially if the pipe is designed for filters.

Some guys run hot water through the bowl running out the stem for a good 30 seconds, leave to dry overnight and carry on.

Although it probably wouldn't be an issue for a couple of days, unless you are smoking non-stop.

I've foraged feathers before when out of pipe cleaners. Another expedient is garden twine - the hairier, the better.

I'm only looking for about 4 smokes max till the weekend, I'd say I'll be grand with some water and a bottle cleaner until I restock!

Some individuals do believe in washing and reusing their pipe cleaners.

I am not one of those people. You could be though!

I bought a set like this on E-bay for $5-6 :

I use one of the bigger ones for a quick bowl cleaning .

I have this Obsessive Compulsive Disorder about being low on pipe cleaners. I use a lot of them!
I Throw 5-10 packs in on every tobacco order I make and I remain in good standing and hold off the horrible thought of running out
Some folks around here like to resue them but that in itself seems like a bad idea all around
Q-Tip the stummel, paper towel wipe the bowl out and head to the local vape shop and find some to hold you over.

She may not want to use it for her straw after you’ve used it in a pipe.

Corn broom straw works in a pinch. Not much absorption but will clear a blockage.

This is what I do as well, I usually grab 10x100 packs of the BJ Long for $20...I have many thousands on hand.

If you start with a sufficiently large pile of fence posts then statistically one of them will actually be a pipe cleaner. The beauty of this approach is that it doesn't just work with fence posts.

If you are not in a hurry you can get a set of those thin brushes from ali express for like 2 bucks.

I order from there becuase half the stuff on Amazon in the EU is Ali Express product with the price x3.

I usually have my orders in 8-10 days

I have a big bunch of cheap pipe cleaners that are just terrible but Im not one to waste. I guess I will use them. I prefer the vauen cleners, they are cheap in the EU. White Elephant are good too.
