ive had a good dose of oriental blends this year. And it hasnt been funny.
Ive noticed too much will take the taste completely away, or make it "floral" and nuthing else.
opened up my first tiny tin of black frigate. I was frisky, so i tore on LAYER off the top. It was all virginias and rum. Damn good actually, gotta get a tin of blockage runner.
Then I tore off a layer from the other side. IT was at least 80% oriental. Godless thing, all it had was a taste of floral, and ash.
FInally remembered to take it down though all the layers at an edge. And it was really different. Tasted everything, actually tasted it all. virginia being weakest, the oriental and latakia just even. turned the floral into a "sweet", the latakia went from being pine incense sticks, to just "light pine" in the background of the flavor.
