For some reason the server wouldn't recognize the kaptcha code when I submitted a comment, but in short I remarked that you took them to school and no one could have better argued the point.

People are stupid and their idiocy never ceases to amaze me. Last time I checked its a free country or at least its supposed to be. If I want to smoke why cant I smoke? The government says they crack down on tobacco for our health. Well screw that. Its MY health not theirs MINE. What I consciously chose to do is MY choice.

I work as an assistant manager at a gas station in the Midwest. As Kevin points out, it is illegal for minors to purchase or possess tobacco, and it always has been. I couldn't tell you how many times a day I see underage kids walk up to the door of the gas station with cigarettes in hand. Even though there are measures in place against this sort of thing, it is just the nature of these kids that they are little thieves and juvenile delinquents, stealing cigs from their parents, their friends parents, or from the poorly run third rate supermarket where they don't properly guard their tobacco products. If you want to truly eliminate the possibility that kids are going to use tobacco products, you would have to ban every adult in every town and every city and every state in every country from owning or purchasing tobacco, period. Since there is no way in hell they will ever take the cigs away from the cig smokers, why in the hell are these monkeys trying to tell people that cigar lovers can't have their cigars? When was the last time you saw a 15 year old with a Macanudo hanging out of his mouth? Never. When was the last time you saw a 15 year old with a $.50 cigar hanging out of his mouth that was loaded with something other than tobacco? Odds are, if you live where I live at least, it's happening right next door. The only kinds of cigars that kids are getting their hands on are the cheap, flavored crap cigars, and I got news for you: It's not because they like the cherry flavored tobacco inside, and like the cigarettes, they are not being sold these cigars. They are either stealing them or having someone else buy them for them. They use these for a different kind of smokable material entirely. It all boils down to what Kevin said in the article: These nitwits operate under the assumption that cigarettes=tobacco=cigars. Saying that a cigar manufacturer is peddling premium cigars to kids because they sponsor the Orange Bowl is like saying that television promotes underage alcoholism because they show people drinking alcohol on TV. The world is overrun with morons, and I for one am getting sick and tired of it.

I got the CAPTCHA issue too.

But if that worked, then we wouldn't have the drug problem, right? So banning isn't the solution either.
I think there's more to be noted though. If you go to http://www.orangebowl.org/partners/default1.aspx you can see the following sponsors aside from Bacardi:
Coca Cola, Taco Bell, Chipotle, Frito Lay, Nature's Own, Power Ade and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.
What a bunch of hypocrites.

Similar story a few years back Cannabis Planet TV tried to sponsor a NASCAR and was blocked. Since NASCAR was started by moonshiners it would not be appropriate for them to have a car with a pot leaf on the hood? The "Drug Free America" campaign is working to take away our freedoms as Americans. If you stand up against these folks with their Nazi like propaganda you will be singled out and attacked.

In the letter, the groups said that the cigar company sponsorship conflicts with NCAA rules that forbid student-athletes and all game personnel from using tobacco in any form at practice or in competitions.
Abbott: So students aren't allowed to use tobacco during games and practices?
Costello: That's right.
Abbott: But if a cigar company sponsors the event, they're allowed?
Costello: No, they're still forbidden to use tobacco.
Abbott: So the cigar company could still sponsor the event.
Costello: No, because the athletes aren't allowed to use tobacco.
Abbott: But if they're not allowed to use tobacco why can't the company sponsor the event?
Costello: Because tobacco use is dangerous.
Abbott: Is alcohol use dangerous?
Costello: Yes
Abbott: But they also sponsor the event.
Costello: Yes, but the athletes aren't allowed to drink while playing.
Abbott: But I thought it was dangerous?
Costello: It is but its not "tobacco dangerous."
Abbott: So tobacco kills more people than alcohol?
Costello: No alcohol kills more.
Abbott: Then why is alcohol allowed to sponsor the event?
Costello: Because the players aren't allowed to drink while playing.
Abbott: But players aren't allowed to use tobacco while playing either.
Costello: Exactly
Abbott: Then why cant a cigar company sponsor the event?
Costello: Because tobacco is dangerous.

Love it Juvat!
Thanks Kevin.
In all seriousness though, do these people actually listen to the words coming out of their mouths? That sentence I quoted earlier should have put up red flags and alarm bells for anyone with a modicum of intelligence.

Yeah people need to learn that words mean stuff.
Anyways I've read somewhere that 1 in 5 adults smoke. We should just storm the whitehouse. Especially Canadians. We can market it as a 200 year anniversary reeactment of the war of 1812 and get some cigar and tobacco sponsors.
