had an unexpected free day while down here in florida so i drove over to sarasota to check out Barrington. i loved that place. ginger was the coolest laid back lady. checked out there six panels of really nice pipes, left with a new stanwell, a tin of mac baren burley and some of the savinelli balsa filters to use in my corn cobs. another good git from the road.

lonestar that shape grabbed me... nise saucer/bully looking guy. there is no shape number on this one. i was wondering if that series was one of those they didn'y put the number on or not... does yours have a shape number stamped on it?

dd951 this is my fifth stanwell and they are some of my absolute favorites. this guy has fit in nicely. i seem to be attracted to danish pipes as a whole.

As far as I know, the Zebrano can be any shape that Stanwell makes. Not sure what criteria they use to make it a Zebrano, instead of the standard lines.

I have a #19 Golden Danish, and #19 Zebrano.

The first thing I notice looking at both stamps, is theres a LOT less space for the stamping on the Zebrano, because of the inlay on the shank.

The 19 is stamped waaaay off to the edge, and upside down (I'd think it was a shape 61 if I didn't have another to compare it to)

The pipe is also just a little bit longer than the Golden Danish.

Maybe they just ran out of space on your pipe to stamp the model?

Not sure what shape you have there, but I agree Stanwells are awesome smokers, and really a great value.

could be. the stanwell stamp itself is very light and the z in zebrano hits the very edge.

i just can't remember seeing this shape in any of the other stanwell series. but regardless i am glad i grabbed this one. my poor girlfriend had to wait for almost two hours while i went through all of them trying to decide.

Yeah I have 3 Stanwells and one of them is a Zebrano 227, the Eltang designed slightly bent horn. The 227 is stamped on mine. Great smoker as are all of my Stanwells. Love that pipe Jason. Congrats.
