Online Groups (besides this prestigious one)

Not really, I am already on 12 pipe forums and am senior moderator of PipeChat.info so that keeps me busy enough.

With the recent security uproar at facebook, I canceled my membership.

I think we have a really well-rounded group of guys here. No matter what aspect of the pastime comes up for discussion, there's plenty of diversity of opinion, choices, experience and knowledge -- shared with good humor and a sense of fraternity. Hmmm... maybe just characteristics of pipe smokers in general.

No other Social Media outlets or forums for me of any kind. I can see why so many people are enamored with FB and Twitter, etc...it's an easy way to catch up with friends and family along with following the activities of favorite musicians, sporting teams or whomever. For me, the maintenance and implied responsibility that goes along with correspondence is too time consuming at this point.

i have a facebook under a false ID. i figure myspace is good enough, i finally sighnd up for that....its all just to centralized anymore.

I find this site to be quite sufficient. FB has so many security issues it ain't funny.

I admit that I'm not real active on Facebook. Between keeping up with

the All Things Meerschaum Group on Smoker's Forum and this place, a lot

of my time is taken up. Since Kevin encouraged me to write some articles,

this has been another time trap. That leaves little time for much else,

unless I stay home for the day.

I joined one other pipe forum before joining this group but haven't made one post there yet. Nothing wrong with the other forum but this one just felt more like home (if you don't factor in Kevin or Bob).

I guess for me, I just like connecting and having conversations more "live" than waiting for a response. Hence with FB I can friend someone and have conversations with other pipe smokers around the world easier.
