Was sitting in my man cave and after 1 to many Woodford rocks, I spotted a bottle of Captain Morgans Spiced Rum that had been gifted to me a couple of years ago. At the time I was smoking some CD's Jamaican Rum I really didn't care for'

As I said I had had one too many Woodfords and this got me to contemplating, I took a little light Virginia a little red Virginia a pinch of perique and threw in a little dark fired Kentucky. Put the rum in a spray bottle and while tossing the tobacco spritzed it pretty good with the rum, then let it sit until most of the rum evaporated before jarring it up.

That was a couple of weeks ago, this morning I have a smoke that CD's blenders need to try.

I have no idea if this is the way you're supposed to infuse tobacco or not, but it worked pretty good this time.

I did the same to Peretti BPC, but used a mix of dark rum and molasses. I soaked it pretty good and let it dry out a bit on a sheet pan. It worked pretty well

I recently flavored some plain VA ribbon with a liqueur I made; bourbon with a bit vanilla extract and white sugar. It turned out to be a fantastic smoke. Plain liquor would add a more subtle flavor. Putting hard booze on tobacco works great!

Men after my own heart. My current experience: Captain Black Gold. I have smoked this brand a while in my youth. I picked up pipes again in my late 40's. I got myself a churchwarden and started investigating what's changed or I should say what's changed in terms of access to tobacco. Well first thing I did was got a can of Captain Black Gold. Lit it up .... mmm ... the nostalgia. Tastes the same as it did 20 years ago. I was looking around a few places and got turned onto flake tobacco. My first few tins? John Cottons brand line. Smoking individually it's pretty good. Then I started to combine. I found a really really good combination. I'll get to that in a second. Went back to the Captain Black Gold and was like ... this could use a pick me up if my plan is to blend (you're kinda dated and your profile doesn't hold up to the times). I had this soap stone diffusion oil burner (the kind you put a tea light in). I watched a few videos about how you shouldn't spray your tobacco directly. I thought to myself this is perfect. Got a rubber maid container put a pile of the Captain Black in it and I used "Kraken" Rum. I put it in the dish part of the soapstone. Took the dish part off of the burner and put it in the rubber maid (put the lid on and sealed it). Soapstone sweats whatever is in it over time (it's why they make for such good oil burners). Five Weeks later (after stirring tobacco every day) took it out and put it on a counter top to evaporate for a day. I then put it into a container to cure for another 5 weeks. Now for the combination. 1/3 parts of each. 1x Captain Black Gold, Kraken infused. 1X John Cotton's Creme Double Pressed Flake 1x John Cotton's Kentucky Double Pressed Flake = The Black Pearl. You will taste the rum spiced vanilla notes. It's aromatic and tastes great. Try it, you will not be disappointed if you're looking for the experience of basically smoking rum. I pack a pipe light it ... put it out via tamper and let it sit for an hour. It needs to be pressed to be perfect and turned into flake and stoved. This will simulate that. THEN smoke it.
