Here is a pipe by premier Pipemaker Todd Johnson I am trying to secure, I have made contact with the seller to purchase it and just waiting for a response. It is a bamboo shank Pickaxe.

That is a great pick axe. Bamboo only makes it more interesting. I just picked up my first bamboo pipe, an Elena Doroshenko..

voorhees, I have a Cavalier by her and it is a great smoker, for some reason the pricing on the Russian pipes have come down from what I can see and there's no logic to it they are well made, enjoy your new Doroshenko!

Thanks banjo. Good to hear yours is a great smoker. I'll post up pictures once it arrives. I was also quite surprised by the price of it being an unsmoked artisan pipe. I have also been searching out female carvers and this is probably not the last.

That's an ultra-dramatic pipe and looks like it would be pleasing in hand, both the finish and the distinctive shape. Bamboo can work or not as a shank, but that one is sublime. I'm fascinated with the way the curve of the shank is incorporated with the flow of the pipe over all.

I just received my email from Silver. She finished my hawkbill. Nailed the shape and I couldn't be happier.
