Bottles of wine are found by treasure hunters all the time. They sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars per bottle depending on the shipwreck, but the collectors don’t drink them.

I would open it. It was made to be consumed not build shrines around it.
If it was distilled well, it is safe to consume. Regarding quality, there are many factors that play a role: exposure to high temperature variations, humidity fluctuation, exposure to UV light and storage position (bottles of distilled spirits should always be stored with the cork up).
It would definitely not taste as bottled fresh due to the oxidation of the spirit, alcohol and congener evaporation and esterification of the spirit.

It would be like drinking history.
