Old Meerschaum Find

Was walking around at my usual hang out and saw something out of the corner of my eye (literally). I turned to get a better look only to get a surprise. Wasn't sure of the price and kinda feared it would be out of my price range. Flipped the tag over $11, yep sold.

Why can't I be so lucky? I see pipes all the time locally, and every blasted one is 15-20 bucks for smoked out, scraped out, tooth-pocked pipes.
