I picked up an old Dunhill Shell, and while I have looked online to try and figure out the manufacture date, I'm unsure.
From left to right:
35/1 DUNHILL SHELL MADE IN ENGLAND 6
PATENT 119 417574/34
So, the 34 at the end of the patent means it could not have been made before 1934. The 6 with an underscore has some significance, but what to base that off? 35? I'm thinking this was made sometime in the 1940's, but I don't know, and I'm curious to find out.
Hopefully someone here who is more knowledgeable can let me know.
