As much as I love the craggy pipes JT Cooke makes there is also a soft spot for the not so often made smooth ones he makes.
This Chestnut colored body against the stark beauty of the amber colored stem would not have been enhanced were JT had rusticated it to surreal cragginess, IMHO of course. Like the last Calabash I'm keeping it smokey with Esoterica Tilbury.

George,

I've traded pipes, camera lenses, a Rolex Watch and $'s to get what I have today. I've been fortunate to get a decent amount at yard sales, junk shops or junque shops since many don't really contain junk. Understand this has been over 30 years and I don't think it's hundreds it might hit 200 with the cobs and metals taking up a chunk of that.
I collected several different things in my life and as my desires changed what was a collection of one item became a collection of another item. When I held my FFL license I did a lot of repair and restoration to firearms as well as scope mounting and bore sighting, these funds became my mad money and was used to purchase firearms that ended up sold later when I had a collection of banjos which got sold to allow me to collect bamboo fly rods which I used to trade up for other bamboo fly rods, you get the idea. I enjoy finding treasures, especially if there is provenance or a good back story, everything I have makes me smile and that is how I think life should be a smile, cheers.
