Oh where oh where is Brian Ruthenberg?

I had commissioned a pipe from Brian over one year ago. I still do not have the pipe. My emails go unanswered. Does anyone know what has happened to this guy? Is he still making pipes? Has anyone received any pipes from him this year?

Brian was at CPCC14 but not this year. I was a bit concerned since I recall he had some health issues. But every once in a while I see him posting new work under BriarArt.

The big issue is if you paid anything or not ! I know I am scatterbrained and sometimes scribble notes down somewhere never to be seen again. I'm sure I have forgotten commissions along the way unfortunately. Once or twice I've gotten reminder emails about a pipe I had forgotten, so I know it does happen. On the other hand, no response to multiple emails is pretty crappy...

I inquired about a commission a while back (3 months ago) and never got answered.

I talked to Brian a few weeks ago on the phone. He has had some major health issues. He even had to make a few trips to the hospital. I forget the name of the disease but it is very debilitating and involves his breathing. It has caused him to be bed ridden quite often. What is also sad is the fact that his problem is aggravated by briar dust, which he is very allergic to. He is unsure of his ability to continue making pipes due to that issue. I'm sure he'd appreciate any thoughts and prayers you care to send his way.
