Depending on how many vendors/collectors there are attending will make a difference. It looks to be a good show from what I hear and it seems like more folks from the different forums are spreading the word also which is a big help in attendance.
As far as pipes, you will probably be a bit overwhelmed at first. But spend as much time there as possible and view all the tables. It helps to have a wish list and plenty of $$$ because there's no shortage of items to tease you. Be it, books on pipes and tobacco, some nice old vintage tins, pipe racks, etc.
If this is your first show, I'd be willing to say it won't be your last.
