Last Thursday, SPC posted an unusual Preben Holm II S freehand, and being a Danish freehand nut, especially Holm's work, it immediately caught my attention. For days I pined over this large, sinuous chimera of nearly full bent shapes, hoping and begging for someone else to buy it, but to no avail. There it sat for nearly a week just begging to be bought, and no one stood up to relieve my temptation. A few minutes ago, I could take it no longer, and I caved. :crying: Thanks for the assist everyone, your inaction just contributed to the corruption of my will power. :rofl:

Thanks guys. The shape was so unusual, just couldn't help it. My other Wades and Holm's pieces were cheering in the background. :mrgreen: Never tried Erinmore Flake, and picked up a tin of that as well for the inaugural smoke.

Yesterday, I bought another damned factory made bulldog, for no good reason. I just see them bullies and for some reason, I buy them. I keep telling myself, just artisan made, just artisan made... I need another pipe, like another hole in the head. Maybe, I can start a bulldog rescue service, like with real dogs. Deep inside, I really want them to just go to good, loving homes.

Embers, that is so funny. I looked at that puppy and wore the screen out liking it as late as ( I thought it was yesterday morning but it might have been the day prior) only passed on it because I had 2 pipes on order already.
It is truly a beautiful keeper. I am so glad it ended up with a great home.

Ember, I was scrolling along through S&P saw that pipe and the breaks locked up. It is really a head turner for me. Not sure if it was the fantasy aspect or just because I have a soft spot for danish bents or both but it really has appeal. Congrats on caving my brother :D

Definitely an unusual piece for Preben. Saw that it was made for John Crouch, and after a quick Google search, John Crouch turned out to be a tobacconist in Alexandria, Virginia. May have to contact them to see if they can give me any information about the pipe.
