Looks like a bureaucrat got silly stringed as a child, and is now getting their revenge.

It's because silly string is EXTREAMLY flammable. And with open flames at every house, could spell disaster.

I cant believe I actually moved back to Cali.. :( this state has gotten so god damn silly it boggles the mind.

I constantly run into people here that TRULY believe that they know whats best for you and god forbid you OFFEND them with logic and reason... and of course once you disagree with them then they FEEL attacked... *facepalm*

I heard somewhere in L.A. they've banned smoking in public so as to curb the ugly nasty cigarette butts littering the community. I wonder if this means no pipe smoking, as pipes don't end with an ugly butt thrown on the ground. That silly string ban is kinda funny, and I never knew that it was flammable. Ofcourse, I've probably never been inclined to get some and a match and test it out.

Your logic is flawed. Is it not flammable to other 363 days of the year? Government needs to stay out of people's lives. A ban on silly string, now there's a worthy piece of legislation. After all, I hear about people heading to the burn hospital every other day because of it.

hmmm...I wish now to test this silly string flammability theory, with rigorous scientific investigation, or you know a bic and a case of silly string. I wonder if it is only flammable when being sprayed(it is an aerosol can in most cases) or if the string remains heavily flammable upon resting?

How is it flawed? It's because the other 364 day of the year, there aren't jack-o-lanterns with an open flame outside nearly every house.

Who the heck uses an open flame in a Jack-o-Lantern? Isn't that illegal by now??

And further more, is there a weight limit to how much candy a child can collect in his trick-or-treat bag yet??

I don't understand the issue here, Silly String appears to be a brand name, therefore, just use this:
