There are some nice ones further south towards Buffalo. Tinder Box in Williamsville, the venerable Smoker's Haven in West Seneca (home of the Kalnitz family of pipemakers).

Smoker's Haven is a pipe mecca and worth the short ride. Great blends and selection of brand name and house made pipes. They do amazing restoration work to pipes as well.
I own a few of their house-made pipes (from multiple generations) and they are of very high quality. The house baccy blends are nice, and being a long-standing establishment, every so often they get a shipment of rare blends. I think the regulars get first dibs on the Esoterica and such but I've snagged a tin of Royal Jersey there. Great, great place.

I'm in Connecticut, but a good friend is one of their cigar reps. He frequently sends me amazing photos of their repair shop and their displays of amazing antique pipes. He has also brought me back a couple of their tobaccos. Brian's Blend is a favorite!
