It's actually the fleur de lis, the design goes back way farther than the 1800's. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fleur-de-lis

Actually, the origins of the Fleur de Lis began with the Bourbon Kings and then the Sun Kings of France as a symbol of their reign going back some 800 years. It is used in S Louisiana as a symbol of the area's French heritage. It is the symbol of light, life and perfection. Anyway, the Fleur de Lis isn't exactly the same one my team uses and the carver has promise to send me another with the correct one.

I have a buddy that is a pipe smoking Cowboys fan and I hope he eats his heart out when he sees my pipe. If you are a sports fan, just send Bahadir your team's logo and pick out a style of pipe you want it carved into.

That is really beautiful. Who is the vendor? My daughter and fiance live in New Orleans are both big Saints fan. He's a pipe smoker and that would be a great birthday gift for him.
