To all those Jedi pipesmokers out there, this relative neb would ike some age(d) advice.
I've bought a few estate pipe that need some cleaning, i.e. tooth marks on the bit, light charring on the bowl and so on...
I've read a few articles and blogs on cleaning, polishing, and restoring.
I've heard of people using carnauba wax and olive oil to polish there bowls and stems.
I've heard of sterilizing the bowls and stems?!?!?!?!
What I want to know is how the experienced smoker might restore their favorite pipe to its original glory and smokability.
What do "YOU" use to polish and clean your pipe after using a different tobacco lets say?
How do "YOU" sterilize your pipes???
I have a can of Arango pipe wipe, arango pipe spray, Brebbia pipe clean, and pipemasters clean and cure.
I've dip my pipe cleaners in cheap vodka to clean my pipes after a couple of smokes. It adds no flavor!!!!
What do "YOU" guys and gals do at home with your pipes regarding these topics?
Thank you in advance for all sage like advice.
