Well, two of them. Just wasn't able to get to Nat Sherman this trip, but am so glad I could visit Davidoff and share a few bowls with Simon, aka Condorlover1. I think we proved two guys can disagree on what makes a good smoke and still get along well. Simon smokes reconstituted coal dust, and I prefer a good English blend. Irony, perhaps, is that Simon is English.
First, the pipe display at Davidoff- on 6th Ave. ca. 57th St.- the front room- good but not large selection of premium tobaccos, great staff and well kept counters, cabinets, and displays.
Next, the smoking lounge with two visitors, one from CA, the other a local. In commemoration of the trip and to spend some money at this shop with its good hospitality,I splurged and found a Corona Old boy in natural briar. Anyhow:
After a visit to the 9/11 memorial downtown- Wall Street area-way downtown, we trundled over to Barclay-Rex on Pearl, re-filled personal coffer of English blend, and took a gander at their smoking lounge, but didn't stay. Nice clean shop also, plans to bring in estate pipes to round out what they have now.
