Right now I've just gotten into smoking a pipe for the past few months now. Bought a cheap Missouri Meerschaum corn cob and some different aromatic and regular blends from the local tobacco shop down here and I'm already thinking of upgrading to a new pipe. Something a little different than the average joe look though. My price range isn't huge, I'm living in Cali so I have a lot more stuff needed to spend money on, and my price range is probably between 40 - 60$ so any advice in this front would be wonderful.

Savinelli has nice pipes in that price range in the estate market
You might even find some new pipes by other makers as well if there is a sale going on.
We have many sponsors listed on the left hand side of the home page. Their sites will open in separate windows. You can look at the different brands in each site and compare prices etc. o
Other members might offer additional information related to a specific pipe once you have picked one out that you like

ebag, I would recommend searching for estate pipes. You can find a gem in that price range that will far superior to a similarly priced new pipe, and come already broken in.

If you're dead set on a new pipe, I just noticed an Invicta Briars Lovat at 4Noggins for under $60. It'll need some break-in but I highly recommend Invicta. I have two of their pipes I've ordered from England and both are of excellent quality. & great smokers. And best of all, good values.

Are you in Cali, Columbia? Or is that an abbreviation for California?
OK, I just read your personal introduction thread -- San Diego it is.
Welcome to the forums
I think I'd continue with the cobs and wait for SmokingPipes.com to bring back the Tsuge sale pipes.

Or better, perhaps, is to take sothron's advice on the Invicta. I have one -- not a work of art, but it's a good smoker.

I agree with rothnh about the tsuges. They definitely have some pipes that are not your average joe pipe shapes. You will just have to wait for smokingpipes.com or find another vendor that has the lower priced pipes. I have not smoked one my self but they meet your two requirements of lower price and non-average joe shapes. Good luck.

I appreciate the information guys. I will definitely look into the sites and types of pipes you've told me about. Hopefully, I'll find one that just jumps out to me.

My other advice is don't rush and don't spend a lot of money ($50 is about right!). I found my sensibilities in pipes made a 100% turn around in my first year with the pipe and I no longer own any of those first purchases.

Plus 1 on the estate pipe, you can get a great pipe at that price and it will already have a nice cake to keep it cool.

Amazon has a couple of Savinelli "Saturnia"s going for $46, if you don't mind a straight pipe. I'm rather new to the hobby, but mine's a fairly nice little thing so far.

Most of the good suggestions have been taken so I'll throw out this one and see if it works for you. Otherwise, I'd go with a reputable estate dealer like this guy who occasionally has some great specials.
