New Pipe Routine

well looks like Uncle Arthur has flooded our forum with his latest batch of new pipes and i got 2 one is a nose warmer cherrywood and the other is a bent "Applepot"

the Cherrywood i just stuffed and lit right after i received it and the Applepot i coated with a touch of honey and let it dry over night. I also noticed Rigmedic swabed his cutty before smoking with vodka.
I was wondering what other ways people prepare a new pipe to smoke

I always swab before I some a new one, an old habit I learned from the owner of an Edwards shop long ago. One never knows what might have crawled up in there, lol.
