I'm looking for a new pipe, all I've had are hand me downs. Lol

I like a fairly large pipe and like the Calabash or bent style.

I like a briar pipe.

Anybody have any suggestions on brands or models?

I'm not looking for cheap, but also not super expensive.

Thanks for all your input.

I'd check out the Savinelli brand from any of our sponsors over on the left. Pipes and cigars has an excellent selection probably near or even under your price point, but you'll also be getting a great pipe from a great maker.

Stanwells is another great speaker at a good price. I believe they are on sale right now at pipesandcigars.com.

Calabash -- are you looking for a gourd pipe or Calabash shape in a briar? You mentioned briar, so I'm assuming that. I saw a good version of that recently and will see if I can find it. I'm thinking Peterson does these, and maybe Big Ben. It's not rare, but it might take a little shopping.

Just a point of view: Not "hand me downs" but 'estate' or 'pre-broken' in pipes! I don't mind breaking in a pipe, have done so 50-60 times, but all things equal, I'd buy the "used" pipe every time.

The French pipe maker BC, Butz-Choquin, makes a handsome briar Calabash pipe that is moderately priced. At pipesandcigars this one is listed as "no longer available," but I think you could track one down elsewhere and/or perhaps as an estate pipe. Iwan-Ries has it in their paper catalog as $115.20 new. For another shaped bent pipe, I suggest you look at Peterson's B11 brandy available at various prices in different series. It's light weight for its size bowl, and it is a sitter. I like it so much, I own two.

mainebear, pf you're looking for a large briar calabash to follow up on mso's suggestion to check out Peterson's there is this for example. https://www.smokingpipes.com/pipes/new/peterson/moreinfo.cfm?product_id=257915 I'm pretty tempted by it myself.

If you're looking for a large, bent briar that fills your hand, check out the Stanwell Brushed pipe, shape 185.
This was the first pipe I fell in love with, a good smoker that lets you know it is there.
For 50 clams, it can be yours.

Add a tin or two of tobacco or some bulk selections and pipe cleaners to hit the free shipping threshold.

Savinelli would be my first choice, Stanwells next, & Butz-Choquin. Any will give you a fine smoke for a fair price. BCs are French & will run a little smaller than the other two, which believe it or not are both Italian makes.
Welcome, BTW! Glad to have you aboard! If you get the chance, why not pop up to the new member intro forum & tell us a little about yourself! :)
