I got a new pipe in the mail today! I am super excited. Hopefully I can post some picture of it tomorrow.
Also, wish me luck. Tomorrow i am headed to some of the antique shops in the area to look for some estate pipes to fix up. Reading some of the posts people have made on here I am hopeful to find a winner or two. I will keep you updated!

Speaking of antique stores ... I went to the big antique store in my town, the place was filled with stuff, but not a lot of pipes. There were a few but nothing special.
But I think it'll be worth going back there every few months to see if they've got any new acquisitions.
I'm bidding on a Jobey Dansk Freehand right now, will find out tomorrow if I win it.
Don't forget the pics, bbauer :puffy:

Just got back! I ended up buying a yellow-bole pipe that was in decent condition and a pipe rack (i couldnt resist, i need something to show off my pipe collection).
I am just curious if people know anything about yellow-bole. it may have been a complete bust of a buy, but we will see after i attempt to clean it up. ill post pictures later but for now im off to work.

Yellow-bole comes out of the SM Frank Co., same folks that make Kaywoodie and Medico. I believe that the "yellow" was supposedly a honey coating to the bowl. It has a lot of history if you care to do a quick search online. Enjoy. I was out with the wife at an antique place recently and picked up 2 pirate pipes.

Ok guys! So i finally took some pictures. They are not great, but this was my first time every trying to "rescue" an estate pipe, and i think i did an alright job. I would love to hear your feedback or if anyone has any advice. Ill probably smoke it for the first time tomorrow. we will see.

also, i know that between the stem and the shank there is a tiny space. i think that maybe one of those silver bands used to be there, however i dont have it and nothing is there any longer. anyone know what i can do about that?
