Hello, fellow pipe smokers! In search for a method of smoking that works for me, I have found something satisfactory at last. I thought I would describe it here as it might help someone enjoy their pipe more. So:
1. Draw on your pipe gently.
2. Take it out of your mouth
3. Shut your mouth and hold your breath
4. Inhale through your nose
5. Exhale though your nose a little, not to let all the smoke out.
6. Repeat inhaling and exhaling until the smoke is gone
I guess it’s similar to the breath method, but somehow I can’t perform the same things with a pipe in my mouth, always let the smoke out.
Advantages:
1) easy to learn
2) pipe doesn’t get too hot as you can’t really perform it if the smoke is too intense and the whole procedure takes enough time for your pipe to rest
3) the flavour is incomparable to standard puffing.
Disadvantages:
1) As a former cigarette smoker, I needed pipes to fulfill the need for nicotine. But I don’t get enough nicotine during my pipe smoking as I used to before. Maybe it’s the tobacco, though. And maybe it’s the right path to enjoy pipes but at last get rid of the addiction.
2) Pipes don’t stay lit as good as with breath smoking.
Have you tried it? I have never found it described anywhere in the internet.
