I've started smoking cigars last year, off and on. Love it, but I can't afford it.

A pipe seems like a much better option, both financially and aesthetically. I've smoked two different pipes, couldn't tell a difference. Not sure why, I just can't tell much of a difference in similar things. It is like that with food, cigars, you name it.

So what is a good, budget-friendly pipe that fits my very vague criteria?

1. Bent Pipe
2. Very Budget-Friendly
3. Looks Decent

Also: I'm not completely set on the bent pipe, but when I smoked both I preferred the feel of the bent pipe. Give me you guy's opinions! And if straight is cheaper, definitely give me that. This is just temporary. When I am in a better financial position I will get a much better pipe.

Welcome to the forum. I prefer a bent, but go with what makes you happy. A pipe is just a tool for the job. It's how you use it that makes all the difference.

Welcome!

You will get a lot of different opinions on what pipes are attractive. What some people think are drop dead beautiful pipes, I think are absolutely ugly.

But for affordable, I'd go with what @chasingembers suggested. Also, you can't go wrong with Dr Grabow, or a good old Missouri Meerschaum corncob pipe. Both of those you can still find at Walgreens these days.

Welcome to the forum!

You will find, if you stick around, that pipes and pipe smoking are very personal pursuits. Everything from the shape of the pipe, to the finish, to the maker, to the mouthpiece, to the tobacco, to how you pack it, to how you light it, to how you smoke it is based on a million variables that only you can figure out.

My suggestion is to get a nice briar pipe that appeals to you and go from there. Learning as you go is part of the fun.

Welcome from S.W Michigan. I prefer pipes with a bend as well probably 3 to 1 in the pipes i have. I would say go to smokingpipes.com and do a pipe search in your price range and pick one that grabs your eye.

Welcome to the wonderful world of pipes. Choosing a pipe is a lot like choosing a women, everyone has there own taste. And there is no wrong choice. From New Mexico, land of confusion. :)

And I second Ember’s suggestion of a Rossi, and add in a low priced Peterson with a fishtail bit, or a Ropp.
