Hi.

Originally from SW Oklahoma. Moved to MN in 2009. Started out as a cigar smoker in the 90's (during the boom). Got into pipes in 2003. Also lived in NH, VT, KS, SD, and MN.

Favorite tobaccos? SG Full Virginia Flake, Reiner Long Golden Flake, Esoterica Penzance, and Stonehaven. Can't really get these anymore, but currently I like Black House by Hearth & Home and anything by G. L. Pease.

Favorite pipes? Started out trying everything I could afford. Then finally realized that I like smaller pipes & classic/neo-classic shapes. I have a small but targeted collection of Dunhills (old & new), Jody Davis, Larry Roush, Castello, and some other makers. I still buy a couple of pipes a year.

Who do I like now? Definitely a fan of Werner Mummert (great blasts); picked up a billiard and lovat last year. Ordered an LB Billiard from Michael Parks (should get it this year). Recently snagged a fig from Adam Davidson. And I'm always looking for vintage Dunhills in great condition (getting hard to find).

I've been lurking on here awhile but will post occasionally. Looking forward to getting to know all of you.

Thanks for the warm welcomes! I did forget one thing in my introduction. "L-Town Comanche" can be translated into = "I was born in Lawton, OK & I'm an enrolled member of the Comanche Nation."

Pennsylvania & New York
Welcome from Pennsylvania and New York.

I also started with cigars in the early ’90s, pipes a few years after that, but, more occasionally. These days, cigars are enjoyed outdoors almost exclusively in the warmer months—pipes are accepted indoors year round by the better half.

I last visited Minneapolis in February of 1990 to visit a book dealer friend and had a great time (even with all the snow)—he took me to some bookstores and back date magazine shops where I scored some stuff missing from one of my in-depth collections for just a few dollars; it was a big thrill finding those publications—much more satisfying than writing a big, fat, check to a dealer.
