So I got this cool looking corn cob bowl in a lot of pipes. Trouble was it had no stem, ferrule, or bottom. So I'm organizing a bit after finishing up a couple of jobs and I start thinking maybe a 40 cal for a ferrule but it was too small so I grabbed a 44, a bit of 5/8th hard wood dowel and a stem that was just a touch to big. a little band saw a little drill press and a little belt sander and viola I give you the 44 cobnum.

Necessity is the mother of invention. As they say. You could call that a para-military mount.

My first pipe was a cob, if I had one like that I probably wouldn't have bought a new one! Very nice :)

So what you're saying is...
This is a Zombie Cob...num?
Nicely done. Looks like you actually dug the cob up from under the earth and took it from it's previous owner.
Nice earthy tone on it. Me likey.

Spartan the fact that there is a cemetery only blocks from my house is no proof sir 8)
Frank thanks much your previous cob mod is mostly what got me off my can with this project. Of course now I'm looking for old busted up cobs to play with but it seems everyone throws em out.
