New Hampshire Rye Drinkers

The state stores are clearing the remaining James Oliver Rye at $20. If you have not tried it, it is a great sip falling somewhere between the Pig and Redemption.

Years back, before medications and then Type 2 got me, Rye was my whiskey of choice. Usually, the only ones I could find, though, were either Old Overholt or Pikesville.

I enjoy old overholt. There are too many choices these days.

The N.C. ABC stores have a suspiciously limited inventory, so I go see what they have, but don't go for what I want. See something advertised you might like? Forget it. On the other hand, beer and wine are open market and offer good selections. Wine is from everywhere, but N.C. winemakers are still not up to Ca., NY, etc. Unless you have a hankering for Scuppernong.
