Hi I'm a new pipe smoker and new to this site.

I found out last week that I live only 20 mins from

the corn cob pipe factory in Washington Missouri

So my brother and I had to go and buy pipes

We each had our first pipe smoke last night

I got the Washington cob I think and he got the ozark cherry I think

Can I smoke a pipe everyday if its only 1 bowl a day?

I tried captain black white because that's all walgreens had what others can I try?

I liked the sweet aromatics.

It was a pretty special experience for my brother and I as I am leaving for my first deployment soon and it was the last night we could hang out together

Welcome aboard. Like some have said already, there are literally a ton of aromatics out there to try.
Here is hoping you are safe in wherever your deployment takes you.

First off, let me say thank you for your service and may you have a safe deployment and a quick return.
If you spend some time on here Lanes 1-Q is probably the most popular Aero. Captain Black is also made my Lane and very popular. White (original) is sold many places. I prefer Royal (Dark Blue package). You should be able to find a couple varieties on the bottom shelf of the tobacco section in your local Wal-mart and most discount tobacco places.
Prince Albert is also a big hit with a lot of history and found in a lot of places as well.
I know the MM Cobs are very popular with the military.
To answer your everyday question, not a problem. Though you will find a lot of pipe smokers will have at least a few pipes to rotate through. The idea being letting one rest while you have smoke another one. Haveing a reason to buy more pipes is also not bad.

Hey thanks for your service be safe over there. You should try and of the MacBaren 7 Seas i havent tried them all but i hear they are good. Tell your brother i like that pipe he picked up.

welcome and thank you for your service when i started back in april i was smoking 8+ bowls a day every day in the same cob i didnt hurt it but i did stain it you may want to get a second pipe and spend the extra on a good stem

i have chewed through several on my first pipe untill i got a better stem

As others have stated, there are plenty of blends out there to try, just have to search for them. I've heard cobs are pretty durable so just enjoy it. Obtaining other pipes will become a passion soon enough. We call that PAD (Pipe acquisition disorder)

Welcome. The nice thing about corncobs is that they are cheap. I smoke the hell out of mine and when it goes bad I buy another. Good luck on your deployment.

Smoke 'em all! Captain black White was my first pipe smoke and I still buy it, even though I like tons of other stuff. TAD (Tobacco Acquisition Disorder) is a popular affliction around here as well. A cob is a great choice and If I were you, I'd snag a couple more before you get deployed. checkout smokingpipes.com or pipesandcigars.com (both are great, reliable sites) and get your TAD on.
Like another poster said, get a better quality stem. I think the factory near where you live makes one, but depending on how much time you have that unclearthur guy who posted above makes a damn fine cob stem.

Welcome, and thank you for your service.
While one can smoke just one pipe all of the time (at one time men owned only one pipe at a time and smoked them all day every day) it's better if you have at least a couple of them and alternate between them.
As for tobacco, I like Captain Black white label myself and think it's a great smoke, but you should try as many different types as you can get so you find what types of blends especially appeal to you personally. I am not a tobacco snob at all and will smoke anything I enjoy whether other people think it's a good blend or not.
If you can, contact Uhle's Pipe and Tobacco in Milwaukee, WI and speak to them about an order of Irish Aromatic. It's a mild aromatic and this is among my favorite blends. I think you might find it enjoyable.
