New Barling Pipes

Does anyone have any experience with the new Barling pipes? I believe Peterson bought the name a few years back, but I hear almost nothing about them. How is the quality? Are they worth the money?

Peterson at one time was making Barlings for the owner of the IP. These are made for K&K, who bought the rights to the Barling IP. My understanding is that the pipes are made by a German company, but I have no further knowledge about them.

No, they look to be very well made, with nice sterling work. But they mostly have filters and I don’t smoke filtered pipes.

They intrigue me. They look nice, and I don't mind the 9mm option that they offer. But looks only go so far, I want a good smoker!

The one 9 mm filter pipe I have, a Kemperling made in Austria, smokes well without a filter, but I think it's a pipe-by-pipe determination.

The only way you're going to find out is to smoke one. What I can tell you is that when K&K made a few of us aware of their intention to reintroduce the line, about a year before it actually happened, they stated that they intended to produce a quality made pipe that would be a favorable addition to the brand's history.
