New Ashtray to the Collection

I bought a junk drawer lot and it came with a howitzer ashtray from ‘43. Highly suggested.

Well, it makes a good pipe rest. And also a cigar rest.

It probably had 3 rests at one point.

It is from a 105mm howitzer artillery shell. It was the standard round in the artillery for many years.
