It really surprises me how eBay will have so many estate Neerups that have been smoked up for sale for more than what a new Neerup sales for. New from smokingpipes, the Neerup Classics range from $120-$175ish, with most coming in under $145. Of course, the lines with P. Jeppesen's name are usually a lot more expensive, still coming in around $200-$300ish.
But, I see so many in the Classic line that are being offered up with light to heavy smoke use for $170+, sometimes $200+.

I'm not talking about the retail new (unsmoked) ones on eBay. Those are merely 10-15% higher than smokingpipes, probably because they paid smokingpipes prices for them new. I am merely talking about the used ones.

Is this just ignorance on the value, or are they actually climbing in resale value like that? Has anyone else notice this?

I always filter by sold, to see what people are actually paying.
Cool, but since I was just looking to see if I could pick up a few more Neerups, I was looking at what was still being offered. And, it just perplexed me on the prices. I mean, I will probably just buy new, but I wanted to scan the estates, just out of curiosity. But yeh, the estates being offered for way over new prices will probably remain for a while.

I think it helps that Neerup have the fetching design and metalwork, so that people who are not that familiar with pipes and are buying on impulse might jump in without shopping much and detecting these disparities.
