So I am still very green when it comes to pipes. What do you guys think of these pipes? I really like the "Tomahawk" shape.

If I remember those are not briar and will smoke hot, usually used as props. I swore I saw a thread about these along while ago. I'm going to go hunting to see if I can get the right info as I could be wrong.

I haven't ordered one of these Ukranian pipes myself, but there are several here who have. It's been a fairly popular topic lately, so I'm sure a search will reveal more.
I won't be buying one. The description reads "Briar" though it doesn't look like briar to me. I'm not a fan of metal stingers, and the carving seems too much like a "souvenir" rather than a proper pipe.
It IS cheap, but cheap doesn't always mean "good".

Cant seem to find the post I was thinking of, but from the jist of what I read they aren't too bad. Still better off getting a couple nice cobs for that price.

For a little more you can buy a Roma or savinelli Florence. Way better

If you like the tomahawk or pickaxe shapes, hunt for a Dr. Grabow Starfire Pickaxe. The price would be about the same, and you would enjoy it more, I should think. I have one that I use for flake tobaccos.

Since Russ is a regular here and P&C is a sponsor, I think I can post this link.
Nwgibson, flake, ribbon, shag, etc are a different way of cutting the tobacco after it has been mixed, pressed and aged.
Here is an excellent article giving you an overview

There's also another thread on this forum asking about the same
