I recently picked up these pipes made by Walt and Nate.
It got me thinking a bit about blastwork and how different carvers can use the same mechanical to get such wildly different results.
I would encourage you to post in this thread some of your favourite sandblasted pipes that seem to have their own individual style.

I have one of Walt's suede lovats and it holds pride of place in my collection. Simply gorgeous and an excellent smoker.

That blast is perfect. Most blasts you see have the ring pattern predominantly on one side, this example goes around the whole bowl. I wonder if this is the result of skill and technique, or a keen eye for a particular grain pattern chosen to blast?
The Connoy is stunner as well.

Great choices Peck. I'm not sure which one I like the best, both! There's definitely more than one way to skin the cat.
That polished bowl top is amazing, as is the bowl interior of Walt's pipe.
@Jesse: I have a Sasieni Stratford (Ruff Root) that I call "Old Lumpy".

Gorgeous ... all the pipes on this thread. I was really taken by the subtle marbling on the Nate King stem which really reflects back on the delicacy of the blast on the briar. Cannoy gets the same sort of play out of that white stem to take you back to the delicacy of finish and textures on the briar. Amazing work.

Very nice pipes Peck, I really like Nate's pipes, I have three and they all look and smoke as nice as anything else I've owned. One of Walt's suede pipes is on my near future to-acquire list.
