Perhaps this is an idiotic question but since Nat Sherman cigarettes are made with cigar tobacco can they be enjoyed being smoked like a cigar? I mean in the puro way... if you’re wondering why I’m asking it’s simply because I like how they look including the packaging.

As an aside, since this is a pipe smoking site, let me recommend Nat Sherman 536 English blend for your pipe, one of the most refined English blends with burley as a condiment.

Those Nat Shermans have Latakia in them and smoke like a Latakia blend. That FSC paper is disgusting you are better off taking out the tobacco and re rolling it in a better rice paper or just put some in a pipe. Don't inhale regardless.

Actually, I’m going to a brick and mortar in PA that carries 536, I’ll pick one up... that’s your our favorite of their current offerings?

Which Nat Sherman? My MCDs bear no resemblance to a cigar. I've only smoked them for thirty years or so though. Altria owns the company now but, I've never heard of MCDs being made from cigar leaf.

Well, I didn’t mean to imply that they resemble cigars, as per their wiki:

“Sherman was also a pioneer in the manufacture of cigarettes which made use of cigar tobacco, launching a product called Havana Ovals #149 early in the 1950s. According to company lore, the move to specialty small cigars and cigarettes was made at the request of an irate customer who had been unable to smoke a cigar on an airplane and who had specifically requested a cigarette which tasted like a cigar.”

Havana Ovals are still produced.

Do you find MCDs to taste at all like a cigar?

The new "Nat's" around here are more like American Spirits... maybe a step above, but a few steps below Dunhills. I smoked a few packs before I quit on NYE. Never tried the old school Sherman's. I'm assuming they're totally different.
