Hey guys,

Just got 3 pipes, all old and enjoyed and in need of a good cleaning. All look to be well-constructed too- with good drilling and open draws.
They are all marked

"J R

Hand Made"

On one side and

"Straight Grain"

On the other side.
Anybody ever seen these before?

I think I had one like that recently as well...I'll look through mine and see if I still have it. I think mine was marked Israel right on the bottom of the shank.
If it says anywhere about being made in London, it could be a John Redman pipe

This is all I could find with a short search.

So here's an update. I've talked to an old and respected dude in the industry and he's confounded as well. His only suggestion was for "Joe Roth" who apparently used to own a "Joe's Pipe Shop" somewhere (he doesn't know where).
Coincidently, there is a "Joe Roth" selling his 500 pipe collection on New York's Craigslist, but he insists you come to his apartment in Queens and pay cash. The mystery deepens...or just goes sideways.
Anyway, here are the pipes.
I like this lovat the best. the other side of the bowl is all beautiful vertical straight grain. I also love the bit. The most thin and comfortable vulcanite I've experienced. And still with an open draw!

Here's the bent billiard.

This apple is labeled "Straight Grain" as well.
