Greetings,
I've been enjoying pipe tobacco for a little over a year and have been fortunate enough to try quite a few different types. I had no interest in aromatics or flavorings and have stayed focused on the most natural offerings. A while back I tried Haunted Bookshop and Pegasus and found both a little hot. I smoked both in a MM Country Gentleman and just tried different packing methods and adjusting the moisture to try and get a cooler smoke to avoid tongue burn. I did end up having a few good bowls and so finished the tins. One of those two blends rendered a really nice sweet taste every so often during the smoke and I can't remember which one it was! I would like to order more but thought I should field this question to you guys first. If you could recommend other burley blends to me that perhaps would offer the same occasional sweet (without added flavorings) I sure would appreciate it. Is it possible the sweet was coming from my cob or some lingering residue from Macbaren NF. Thanks!
