My favorite store.
I’m in the automobile section. I needed a oil filter and some oil.
A Wal-Mart employee walks up to me.
“Supp?”
I said. “What?”
He says. “Supp?”
I said. “Sorry. I don’t understand what your saying.”
My wife tells me to “not go there.”
End of story.

If they made literacy a requirement for employment they'd have to raise prices.

I would have asked the kid if he spoke the English language and then busted his balls unmercifully. My kids would be rolling their eyes and asking me why I have to embarrass them when we go out.

Brian,
If they made literacy a requirement for employment they'd have to raise prices.
Amen, speaking as someone who has forty plus years as a business owner.

Well, courtesy and respect are likely at an all time low, but some of it may be attributed to regional or cultural influence, as well.
Anyone recall Joe Pesci's "Two Utes" from My Cousin Vinny?

There's only one response:
Good day, sir. My wife and I have ventured from the outer suburbs in seek of assistance from an individual such as yourself. Pray tell, can you assist me in the following matter?
Give 'em a good example.

What do you expect from a minimum wage kid? He gets paid the same, whether you spend $3000 in Walmart, or 0.

Were the locally owned businesses out of stock? I like shopping at my local garage/hardware store. They have had the business in the family for three generations, their prices are higher but so is the customer service they offer. If I went to Walmart I'd expect to be stopped at the exit and have my receipt checked.

I don't know what Canada is like. Here people have a choice to support what they want to exist by spending money on the businesses they like.

People arguing about nonsense is the norm for Walmart customers.

People talk like that all the time here, or address you in Spanish. I just play it off. Caste differences exist and there's nothing any of us can do about them.
