Don't hear much about these, but I 'inherited' one from my uncle who was a pipe smoker back in the day, he actually gave my brother and I a few pipes as kids we played with them and smelled them haha, coincidently we both enjoy pipes occasionally now.

Several years ago I bought an identical one in very good shape on ebay. I smoke them now and then, love the feel but they tend to get gurgling with that little moisture trap thing, so as a result I don't use them often, ill stick a pipe cleaner down it to suck up some moisture when it gurgles. Probably has to do with the tobacco and speed at which I smoke.
Anyway, here they are.

I have two of them: a 5-1/2" with a yellow stem, and a Giant. I'm really quite fond of both pipes.

P&C's recent clearance sale got me a pipe they had listed as a "Wellington Medium Paneled Churchwarden." However, the only markings on it are "ROMA" on the left side of the shank and "ITALY" on the bottom of the stem. It passes a pipe cleaner and smokes very nicely.

Great looking pipes. I have one myself and have the same moisture issue. Being an army mount, I take out the stem and blow through it to clear most of it through out the time I'm smoking it. The mortise tends to get foul pretty quickly so I run a Q-Tip in there to clean it out after every use.

I've steered clear of systems type pipes, although I'm sure most don't gurgle, but non-system pipes in general don't. I don't prefer P-lips, though I have one that I enjoy smoking, just a little too much bit for me. However, I love the look, the traditional design on those. I'm assuming they were made in the U.S. because of the "Imported Briar" stamp. That is usually a U.S. thing.
