I've been saying that I would post pics of my pipes and the pipe rack my good friend Jake made for me a while back, so here it is.

The top row are my Brigham Pipes, the second row are my Trypis Pipes and third is just a couple of MM cobs. The rack will hold 20 pipes in all, 7 on the first and third rows and 6 in the middle row. I was quite pleased with the the way the rack looks I just wish the pipes sat more on an angle rather than almost straight up and down. Some pipes barely rest in the crook at the top for the mouth piece but they have never fallen out and there's a rail line about 20yr from the back of the house.

Thanks everyone! I really like the rack as well. I asked him for a beat up, rustic look with large 'chunky' wood and he hit it on the head for me with this one. I asked him to make me a pipe, he's still working on a design before he goes ahead and starts cutting into the briar and olive woods I obtained from another close friend (a professional woodworker) who is more than willing to give little scraps of wood that are perfect for pipes
I want to fill up the rack with more Trypis and Brigham but I haven't decided on what I want as of yet. If I cannot find a Trypis I like I will probably fire off an email or phone Philip and see what he can do for me.

roth - I have some nice leather I'm going cut into half inch wide strips and nail across the open holes so if they do happen to tip forward they won't fall out. I'm going to use some old rustic furniture nails to fasten the leather pieces with. I'm sure you've has seen the knobby ones on nice leather furniture, everyone has at one point in time. I'm sure it will just add more to the whole ensemble of the rustic look of it. I was thinking I might stain the leather pieces with some tea to make it look like it's really old and rugged lol.

Nice looking rack Cav, and an equally nice looking collection of Canadian (and one Italian Canadian) briar!
Thanks for posting.

I am too roth! lol. had family visiting this weekend and back to work tomorrow (3pm) so I might have a lil time in the morning to get them cut. I need to check out Lowes or even Home Hardware to see if they have the style of brads I'm looking for.
One really cool thing I didn't mention about the rack is it is fastened to the wall with 4 screws. You cant see them b/c Jake drilled the holes using a Kreg Jig and what's cooler is they are 16" apart so if it needs to be moved I just need to find one stud and the other will line up perfectly on the other side. No need for lags or trying to figure out spacing for drilling holes for lags :D
