Here's a link to my small collection -- all these are in fairly regular use, although I have my favourites! Has anyone ever seen a Meerschaum like my #8 and 9? (see https://plus.google.com/photos/109475451263799535359/albums/5691668207958369537)
Hey nice collection, I have seen a pipe shaped like that before but I'm not sure if it was Meerschaum. It looks like it would fit perfectly in the hand.
Thanks, Lawrence -- the calabash smokes quite well, but it's rather a nuisance to store! I like the flute in your display (I'm also a flute player) -- what tobacco do you use with it? :laughat:
Wow, Sergemoat - I'd never seen a Kaywoodie twin-bowl -- that's fascinating!! Mine was, as far as I know, made in England -- it was given to my grandfather to commemorate his brother's death in WWI. Since he died in 1917, I'm guessing at the age of the pipe. Grandfather was living here in Vancouver BC after 1910, and I don't think Dorothy (brother's wife) ever came to Canada. There's no markings on the pipe or the case, so I can't tell you anything else about it!
I'm learning how to post pictures! Here's the two photos of the double-bowl meerschaum I'm talking about:
Hmm...that didn't seem to work :-( Maybe someone could help me fix this? I typed in the IMG box: http://pipesmagazine.com/members/dhintonca/album/picture/3504
Edit: Gotcha covered Dallas. Check your PMs I sent you a hint or two that may help with your conundrum. L
Thanks for the fix! I seem to have it sorted for using photobucket, but the size is rather extreme -- guess I have to go learn how to do that!
Cheers, Dallas
