Fit and finish on this pipe appear to be excellent. The draft hole is drilled surgically precise and comes out right at the bottom of the bowl. The tenon looks good, and the stem fits well and comes on/off easily. This is my first apple and it feels quite good in hand! The bowl is larger than I expected, I doubt I'll ever smoke a truly full bowl out of this one.
I like the grain, too. I bought it sight unseen but it's as good looking as I had hoped! I haven't smoked it yet... I'm sorely tempted but it's freezing cold and pouring rain tonight. Maybe I'll smoke a little tiny one...
I thought the Peterson pipe tool was a nice touch! Super sturdy and high quality, it will certainly be my go-to from now on. I'm curious if this is a somewhat unusual configuration with the Flame Grain/yellow stem combination? I look at a LOT of Peterson's online and this is the only flame grain I've found with a yellow stem (which is half the reason I bought it).

Looks like an awesome pipe. I hope you enjoy it for many years to come! Give us an update once you have smoked it a few times.
Keep it lit!

Sounds like latakia weather to me!
That's a good-looking pipe, congrats!

Meh... it's not as common, but not unusual either. I see a few Flame Grain from time to time with that stem. It's typically the stem found on the Rosslare line, and the Rosslare Royal Irish line (basically the Royal Irish with the stain and stem of the Rosslare). I have actually been intending to add a Flame Grain with that stem, myself, to my 106 collection. Yours is a real beauty! Congrats and enjoy the heck out of it!
Shouldn't there be a ™ there Ash?
No. You see, he changed it up to read, "smoke the heck out of it," as opposed to my "enjoy the heck out of it," in order to get out of paying me my $.25 per use. He's a crafty one.

Thanks Anthony, good to know! This stem is much brighter yellow compared to my Rosslare Royal Irish, which is more orange/amber colored. I bought this sort of as a brother to my Royal Irish, but I’m not displeased with the color of this at all. The Royal Irish has a vintage class to it, this one kind of “feels” more brand new. I like them both just fine, though.
