This is my 1st pipe purchased from eBay. I have to say I am very pleased with it. It came in a very old box with two delicate pieces of what appears to be rice paper talking about the Meershaum pipe process, how they make it from a single block, etc. The name on the paper is Hayim Pinhas from Istanbul. The stem screws into the pipe I'm going to have to be careful with that. Its a very cool find.

the difference in smoking my favorite english blends from briar to meerschaum was pretty significant. The tobacco comes through purer somehow, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. nice pipe!

Killer find, Zonomo. When I first started acquiring pipes in the mid 70s Hayim Pinhas was one of the biggest Meer producers/advertisers in the market.
I was a dumb-ass college kid then, right? But he advertised in numerous magazines and journals and the little B&M I traded at in my home town in SW Missouri carried his products exclusively. Most of his pipes were elaborate figural carvings and I always wanted a massive plain white bowl and could never find one.
If you haven't fired this up yet, hoss, then you're just wasting time.
I hope it smokes as good as it looks.

OK - had my first bowl tonight with this. VERY nice. The stem feels somehow smaller (narrower?) in my mouth than my other pipes. The bowl is larger than my others too but it smokes real nice. Really great find.

hey Mike - it set me back exactly $27 bucks. Really an amazing find in its own right but the cost really seals the sweetness. This pipe smokes like buttermilk... really an awesome experience.
