Well ever since Cortezattic pointed this pipe out in another thread I haven't been able to get it out of my head. I have actually lied in bed the last three nights thinking about this pipe. Well today I finally pulled the trigger. It will be my first Castello and I am really looking forward to it. The white stem is neat looking but hopefully it will not be too much of a pain to keep clean. I don't know why but there is something about a pot-shaped billiard that I just adore. It's my favorite shape.

OK, so today you bit the bullet and popped for a high grade pipe. It's gonna be with you forever!

That is a beauty of a Castello, congrats on your first. I have owned a number of them over the years and they were all great smoking pipes. They all have wide open draws and the pipes seem to smoke themselves. I have a feeling once you smoke that one, you will want more, they are very addicting.

Congratulations. I love that white stem! I saw DaveInYork today, he was smoking a white-stemmed Von Erck. It was an older pipes, but had a lovely patina. That is one distinctive Castello and as Harris said, it probably won't be your last. The 3K size to me would just about be perfect. My Sea Rocks are 4k and G-sized, fantastic pipes but I wish they were a tad bit smaller. Enjoy that beauty!

Thanks for the great comments guys. It is even more beautiful in person. I had it shipped to the hotel I am staying at. I couldn't wait until I got home. It's fairly large due to the super thick walls. I am not sure I would want to go any larger than a size KKK though. I agree Al, I think 3K is just about right(for me anyway). I can still clench it with no problems. I think a little McClelland's 221-B Series Honeydew after dinner sounds about right. :puffpipe:

It looks awesome, with those walls you could smoke like a mad man and never heat it up. Let us know what you think about it after you smoke it. I love the naked bowl, to me there is nothing like breaking in one of those. You can really taste the briar in the first few smokes.
